🌳 Treehuggers Forest Class
A Holistic Nature Program for Pre-K –1st Grade
Welcome to a forest classroom where learning is led by wonder, and each child’s voice is heard, valued, and celebrated. Our Treehuggers Forest Class offers a nurturing and enchanting environment where young learners feel safe to explore, express, and evolve — naturally and joyfully.
📍 Class Locations & Times:
🗓 Wed/Fri from 9:45AM–1:45PM at Felicita Park, Escondido
🆕 Tues/Thurs from 9:45AM–1:45PM at Los Peñasquitos Preserve — returning this fall!
This immersive forest class is rooted in love, connection, and curiosity, providing a safe and spacious container for children to explore what excites them most — whether it’s building fairy houses, studying insects, or composing songs about the seasons. Instead of being silenced or spoon-fed curriculum, students are encouraged to share what they already know, ask questions, and co-create their learning journey.
Each themed semester interweaves joyful movement and music with foundational academics and emotional literacy, including:
🎶 Music & expressive movement
📚 Language arts through storytelling, journaling, and song
🌱 Nature-based science and local ecology
🔢 Math through games, patterns, and nature-based problem-solving
❤️ Social-emotional learning and collaborative play
🔥 Survival skills and forest adventures
🌈 Spanish Immersion woven through playful interaction
Inspired by the philosophies of Reggio Emilia and Waldorf, this child-led nature class honors each learner’s whole being — mind, body, heart, and spirit — while fostering a deep respect for the Earth and their community.
This program is ideal for transitional kindergarten through 1st grade students (ages 4–6).
📌 We proudly accept PCA, SoCal Scholars, Dimensions, Suncoast, and Freedom Academy funding.
Let your child grow wild, grounded in love, and free to flourish. 🌿💫
