Our Team
Miss Kendra
Founder and Director of The Indie Sol Collective. After coming to the realization that sending her kids to an institution for hours on end, was not the path she wanted to take, she decided to create a homeschool community of her own. Homeschooling affords her family the precious commodity of time.
She’s passionate about sharing creative movement, music, mindfulness and a love of nature while embracing each child’s unique curiosities and reflections. Her hope is to shift the schooling expectations by creating a more harmonious environment for both children and parents alike.
She is a certified Reiki Master who strives to shed light, love, wisdom, and kindness upon others. *CPR certified
Miss Nicole
Miss Nicole holds a bachelors degree in Psychology and an Elementary School Teaching Credential. She taught in a Reggio Preschool for 10 years where she was passionate about supporting children through their journey of learning in a child led curriculum.
She continues to embrace child centered learning as she homeschools her two children, and feels that being a part of The Indie Sol and exploring nature is a vital part of their learning experience. *CPR certified
Miss Heather
Miss Heather holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science and Law and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. She is a native San Diegan who is never too far from the ocean.
After her miracle baby was born, she began studying Early Childhood Education. She now has 13 certificates in the subject. She believes that children thrive in an environment where they are given a voice and freedom to explore their world. As a teacher she tries to observe and adapt to the children around her making it a very personal experience for them and spark their love of learning. *CPR certified
Miss Tyra
Miss Tyra has Degrees in Early Childhood Development, NeuroPsychology, and Music.
She has been a preschool teacher as well as taught at the elementary level. She has taught music professionally to children for over 5 years and is certified in the Let’s Play Music Curriculum which emphasizes Kodaly teaching principles. She plays several different instruments and loves sharing the power of music with children.
One of her biggest joys in life is to empower children to discover all they can about themselves and the world around them. *CPR Certified

Miss Tina
Miss Tina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Conservation from Humboldt State University specializing in conserving local bird populations and has a passion for California native plants. She guides the children at The Indie Sol on child led hikes in hopes that each child develops a healthy connection with nature. *CPR certified
Miss Alea
Miss Alea is a graphic designer with a passion for teaching art. She has over 20 years experience in the design industry. She enjoys crafting with kids of all ages and helping them explore their creativity. She is an avid traveler and nature lover, spending as much time as possible outdoors.
