Importance of Process Art
Not all art will be “wall worthy” – and that’s okay!
When we invite and accept the process of art VS the final project of the art itself, children feel more freedom to express (naturally) what’s already inside.
It activates imagination and leads to new discoveries
Here are some tips to create more freedom inside of art for our children:
There is NO specific way of how the art “should” be.
There is NO right or wrong way to do it.
The finished product is completely the child’s own.
The art is always unique to each child.
Art is focused on the experience.
Most importantly….
All artwork created should be cherished as they are the most purest form of expression.
Saying comments to try and fix something, or telling the child to fix something to “ Make it look better” is like saying someone does not like a piece of art, or the child is not talented enough; after all their minds are absorbing all feedback into their subconscious mind and creates the world they will live later.
