“Just a Minute” Poem

He asks me to watch how fast he can run, how high he can jump…. “Did you see that mum?!”

“Just a minute I say… I’m almost done”

The mom guilt settles in and I quickly realize that my awareness is in dire need of a shift…

Acknowledging children by providing them with positive feedback and encouragement is a crucial part of social-emotional learning.

This in turn will help our children develop positive behaviors and social-emotional skills such as resilience, independence, self-esteem, respect, compassion, etc.

Whether it's with a sticker, a high five, or a few kind words, acknowledging children with positive feedback and encouragement is important to their overall development and wellbeing.
