What is Co-Learning?

Free play, community, and construction of knowledge. These three elements of co-learning blend together.

Educators support children by joining them in learning how to learn. Educators encourage the children’s learning journey by our active participation

Our participation in activities regularly helps us connect to the children’s work and thinking. We join the children in play as co-learners. We become co-learners by opening our mindset to the possibilities of the work before us. We move between the role of observer, mentor, and hands-on participant.

Some of the benefits to being involved in our children’s learning:

✨ Wider Range of Knowledge and Skill Acquisition

✨Promotes Active Listening and Critical Thinking

✨Builds trust and confidence

✨Strengthens our relationships

✨ Children can learn at their own pace
