Childhood Unplugged

The Indie Sol Collective joins Unplug Collaborative’s Unplugged Village™ initiative and we have pledged to participate in fun and meaningful off-screen experiences!

"Everyday we have a multitude of decisions to make. Now far more than ever! Admittedly, we need our screens for work and lots of tasks, but we also have to weed through a lot of JUNK that definitely does NOT add to our lives." Claudia Erickson

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting @unpluggedvillage_sandiego whose mission is to elevate human connection over digital engagement.

The kids got to decorate and gift personalized smartphone nap-sacks to their loved ones. It was such an amazing experience to be a part of and equally rewarding to hear how they would like to spend their time "unplugged" with their loved ones.

Running a business and being a full time homeschool mom takes a lot of juggling and requires me to be plugged in for longer periods than I would like, but giving my children the opportunity to offer a solution to a problem they are experiencing instead of fighting to get my attention is a huge step in the right direction.

“I pledge to become more mindful about my relationship with social media and technology.”
